ASUS and Leadtek today introduced their new graphics solutions based on the latest generation GPU from NVIDIA, GeForce3. The cards from ASUS (ASUS V8200 Pure and V8200 Deluxe) and the card from Leadtek (WinFast GeForce 3 TD) are based on different reference designs worked out specifically by these companies. ASUS V8200 Deluxe is equipped with a TV-Out and Video-In; it supports some video editing options and is accompanied with 3D glasses, i.e. it is the so-called multimedia combine. Leadtek WinFast GeForce 3 can boast a TV-Out and DVI-Out. The basic features of the three cards are quite standard: 200MHz core frequency and 460MHz memory frequency. However, unlike many similar products introduced recently by other graphics cards manufacturers, these three products can boast hardware monitoring functions, which isn’t that typical for graphics solutions.
Leadtek WinFast GeForce 3 goes with a special WinFox Utility. It includes:
  • Speed Runner for overclocking the graphics core/memory speed;
  • On Board GPU Chip Edge Temperature Monitoring;
  • On Board GPU Chip Voltage Monitoring;
  • Board Voltage Monitoring;
  • GPU chip Surface Temperature Monitoring;
  • Active Cooling Fan Speed Monitoring;
  • Critical Temperature Monitoring.
While the cards from ASUS are provided with SmartDoctor technology including
  • Fan RPM Monitoring;
  • AGP Power Level Monitoring;
  • SmartCooling technology;
  • OverHeat Protection;
  • Dynamic OverClocking.
As for the prices, they are somewhat lower than the initially announced cost of GeForce3 products. ASUS V8200 Pure and V8200 Deluxe will be selling for $549 and $598 respectively, while Leadtek WinFast GeForce3 – for $570.
