Although ALi MAGiK 1 DDR chipset for AMD Athlon and Duron processors can’t boast the performance as high as that of AMD-760 or VIA KT266, ALi seems to have found a proper approach to most mainboard manufacturers. At least, following in the footsteps of Iwill, ASUS and Transcend, MSI has also announced its new ALi MAGiK 1 based mainboard. In fact, there is nothing to be surprised at, actually. Since the cost of ALi MAGiK 1 chipset isn’t that high against the background of its more expensive competitors, the boards based on it aren’t too costly that’s why they are much more profitable to produce.
As for the features of MSI’s newcomer, this board is called K7MG Pro and features pretty common characteristics. Like other ALi MAGiK 1 based mainboards, it supports both: DDR SDRAM and the regular PC133 SDRAM. There are 2 168-pin DIMM slots and 3 184-pin DIMM slots.
Besides that, there are 5 PCI, 1 CNR and 1 AGP Pro slot. the mainboard also supports MSI’s brand D-LED diagnostic technology and features an integrated sound controller.
