As it has been reported, Intel today unveils its new Pentium 4 processors with clock-speeds of 2.5, 2.6, 2.66 and 2.8GHz. The first two are proposed for 400MHz Quad Pumped system bus, while the remaining are intended for the faster 533MHz processors bus. These newcomers are based on the Northwood core and manufactured using 0.13 micron technology process. The novelties do not support HyperThreading technology and can work on practically all mainboards that can be found on the market.

The announcement takes the performance crown away from the archrival AMD, whose highest-performing CPU is now Athlon XP 2600+. Sales of the newcomers from Intel started a week ago in several online stores from the USA (see this news-story) and on the weekend passed, the novelties were noticed being sold in retail in Japanese shops. We should stress that we will not see any Athlon XP 2400+ or 2600+ before September.

As always, Intel declined processor pricing together with the announcement. The official Intel`s price list for the quantities starting from 1000 pieces looks as follows:
