MSI announced that they were starting to ship K7T Turbo (KT133A based) mainboard. Here are some brief specs for your reference:
  • CPU: AMD Athlon/Duron with 200/266MHz FSB;
  • Chipset: VIA KT133A;
  • Memory: 3 DIMM slots for up to 1.5GB PC133 SDRAM;
  • Expansion slots: 6 PCI, 1 AGP, 1 CNR;
  • UltraATA/100;
  • 2 USB ports;
  • Supports Fuzzy Logic 3, Live BIOS, D-LED, STR (Suspend to RAM) and STD (Suspend to Disk);
  • PC 99 and PCI 2.2 compliant.
In other words, MSI has finally joined the army of KT133A based boards manufacturers.
Besides, the company also introduced K7T266 Pro mainboard based on VIA Apollo KT266 chipset. It features the following things:
  • CPU: AMD Athlon/Duron with 200/266MHz FSB;
  • Chipset: VIA Apollo KT266;
  • Memory: 3 DIMM slots for up to 1.5GB DDR SDRAM;
  • Expansion slots: 5 PCI, 1 AGP, 1 CNR;
  • UltraATA/100 integrated RAID controller;
  • USB 2.0 onboard controller;
  • Supports PC Alert III, Fuzzy Logic 3, Live BIOS, D-LED, STR (Suspend to RAM) and STD (Suspend to Disk);
  • PC 99 and PCI 2.2 compliant.
Well, K7T266 Pro is not only based on a new KT266 chipset, it also supports USB 2.0! So, this mainboards from MSI seems to be a really good choice for a powerful DDR system on AMD Athlon processor.
