More on AMD Duron Overclocking. [02/06/2001 08:14 PM]

Well, we decided to give you a brief update on the overclocking potential of new AMD Duron CPUs. Today we will overclock the processors working at 700, 750 and 800MHz. The test system included: ASUS A7V, ABIT KT7 and ABIT KT7A mainboards, which allow changing the processor clock multiplier. We unlocked the clock multiplier by closing the L1 golden bridges on the CPU surface with the help of an ordinary pencil. We increased the CPU voltage up to 1.85V and the cooling was arranged with a Chrome Orb cooler from Thermaltake and thermal grease. Here is what we got:

Well, since all the processors are made of the same "dough", there isn’t much difference between them in terms of the maximum frequency achieved.
