Today FIC announced its new mainboard based on Intel 815EP chipset: FS15. This Socket370 mainboard is designed in ATX form-factor and is the first i815 based product from FIC aimed at the mainstream market. This solution once again proves that Intel was absolutely right when it considered i815 without the integrated graphics core to become a popular solution due to its relatively low cost. The only shortcoming, i815EP inherited from its predecessors in the support of only 512MB PC133 SDRAM at the maximum. Nevertheless, FIC FS15 is equipped with 3 DIMM slots. Besides, the mainboard has 1 AGP, 1 AMR and 6 PCI slots. For the South Bridge FIC selected ICH2 microchip that’s why the board supports ATA/100, AC’97 sound and 4 USB ports.
