There appeared some interesting info on the upcoming AOpen graphics products, particularly on the GeForce2 MX based family. The family will include 6 graphics cards, 5 of which will feature AOpen brand "OpenBIOS" technology, which allows easy access to the graphics card BIOS, which offers overclockers broad opportunities (core and memory frequency, voltages and fan speeds). Here is a list of models:
  • PA256MX Platinum - 32MB, TV-Out, DVI-Out;
  • PA256MX Diamond - 32MB, TV-Out, Video Capture;
  • PA256MX All-in-wonder - 32MB, TV-Tuner, Video Capture;
  • PA256MX - 32MB, Low Profile, no OpenBIOS. The card is already selling;
  • PA256MX II - 32MB, Low Profile, TV-Out;
  • PA256MX II-A - 32MB, Low Profile.
We would also like to draw your attention to the fact that PA256MX II cards will be supplied with active cooling, which should make overclockers very happy with this card. As for the PA256MX Platinum with DVI-Out, it will be shipped together with a special adapter, which allows connecting two CRT-monitors simultaneously.
