Among all i845-family based mainboards from ASUS, P4B533-E with RAID, Firewire, LAN & USB2.0 support has been the flagman for quite a long time already. For the real computer-hardware geeks, its features are already not enough and that is why one of the biggest Taiwanese manufacturers has decided to launch another high-end Socket 478 board. From now, the top-end DDR SDRAM supporting Socket 478 mainboard in ASUS’ line of products will be P4B533-VT based on i845G and offering all the latest features for the real enthusiasts.

Here are the brief specifications of the product:

  • Supports Socket 478 Pentium 4 processors with 400/533MHz FSB;
  • Intel 845G (with integrated graphics-core) + ICH4 core-logic;
  • 3 DIMM slots for up to 2GB of PC1600 or PC2100 DDR SDRAM. ASUS promises that they will enable unofficial support for PC2700 memory;
  • 6 PCI and 1 AGP 4x slot;
  • 2-channel ATA-100 controller in addition to 2-channel ATA-133 RAID controller from Promise;
  • 2 Serial ATA devices supported;
  • 6 USB 2.0 ports;
  • 10/100/1000Mbit/s Ethernet adapter from Broadcom;
