According to the info we got from one of MSI representatives, the company is going to introduce their own new technology in the nearest future: PC 2 PC. This new MSI’s initiative should simplify the connection of the PCs to the local network and to each other via the USB cable without any additional hubs or network adapters.
We should also point out that the similar solutions already available in the today’s market require special cables equipped with some additional devices and possess only limited features. In case of a new PC 2 PC, the computers are connected to each other via an ordinary USB cable, which allows emulating fully-fledged Ethernet and using all the features it offers with any restrictions. So, MSI offers a low-cost and convenient solutions for local networks. The only restriction this PC 2 PC technology carries is the possibility to connect via USB cable only one PC to a computer with a PC 2 PC feature.
New technology is supported by 815 EP Pro-R and Pro 266 Plus mainboards, which are equipped with a special single-chip controller for this purpose. The current PC 2 PC implementation allows getting up to 8.6Mbit/sec data transfer rate.
