One more interesting mainboard appeared in Japanese shops today. This is a new dual-processor mainboard from ASUS – ASUS CUV4X-D built on VIA Apollo Pro133A. As you know this mainboard is a light version of another product from ASUS – CUV4X-DLS. The difference between the two boards makes only the absence of the integrated Ultra160 SCSI and Ethernet controllers by CUV4X-D. All other specifications are just the same as those of the full version: Dual Socket370, ATX form-factor, AGP Pro slot, 5 PCI and 4 DIMM slots. We were very pleased to find out that ASUS provided even this serious product with some cool overclocking features. If you are an overclocking fan, you will be able to change the FSB frequency in the interval from 66 to 150MHz.
However, this mainboard also has a very strange feature. While all other manufacturers of dual-processor Socket370 mainboards implement automatic AGTL+ bus termination, which allows them to give up a terminator usually installed into the second Socket370 when only one CPU was running, ASUS decided to do without this feature. So, CUV4X-D goes together with a special terminator.
As far as the price of this product goes, it is now selling in Japan for $187.
