The weather in Central Europe is not fine at all and cataclysms keep reminding of themselves. Representatives of different IT-companies now try to convince the investors and society that this situation had been foreseen before and there will be no shocks for production or any other facilities.

AMD has officially reported that Fab30 is safe and secure, keeping the processors made. According to the sources, the plant itself is located on an eminence and quite far from the Elbe, so there is nothing to worry about. AMD also told that Fab30 has its own power plant located on the ground floor of the complex. The facility remains accessible via the Dresden airport and federal highways.

At the moment, the Fab30 continues to make Athlon XP processors for the whole world and representatives of the company assured us that it will be somehow impacted even if the situation worsens.

I want to note that this unprecedented floods experienced in Central Europe cause the demand on personal computers to slide down so much that neither AMD nor Intel will not have to worry about their shipping channels: no one is going to buy a new computer while standing in the water. On the other hand, computers that are currently in use will certainly be damaged and the companies will definitely have to buy new devices.

We also want to know where the vendors are going to put the hardware submerged in storehouses. We remember Compaq sold personal computers with mainboards that had some corrosion trails on it and STB tried to sell-of some rusty graphics cards.
