Well, it has been discussed everywhere now that there is not a single sign of the economic growth in the IT industry in the near future. However, the symptoms of the crisis become more and more vivid day by day. And now we have a chance to watch even the most inveterate optimists agree with the most gloomy forecasts.

Although the Taiwanese Institute for Information Industry (III) have at first predicted the economic growth in IT industry to take place this year, now they report that H2 2002 will be hardly any better than H1 2002. Moreover, slight improvement of the situation, which will happen in Q3, because the slow summer season will end then, will inevitable lead to a significant sales drop in Q4.

As for the future, the Institute for Information Industry (III) claims that the industry will start recovering from the crisis only in H2 2003.

The continuous passiveness in the market is caused by the fact that most large corporations are not going to start the massive upgrade of their computer equipment because of the overall economic instability.

The PC market growth next year is forecast to reach 4.3%. Also they report that the crisis will have the smallest harmful influence on the notebook, LGD-monitor and CD-RON drive segments. These is the hardware that keeps enjoying wide popularity despite all problems in the market in general.
