According to this story, Matrox may release a few new versions of their Parhelia product before the end of the year, which are supposed to work faster than the current Parhelia.

According to the sources, the Taiwanese manufacturers expect the cards based on Parhelia architecture featuring AGP 8x support to come out in October. Of course, we wouldn’t say that Matrox Parhelia equipped with a sufficient amount of pretty fast memory can improve its performance significantly by simply shifting from AGP 4x to AGP 8x bus. However, if this fact turns out true, it will represent Matrox engineers as very straightforward specialists who didn’t stop at the achieved results and continue working on their products.

Besides that, the same sources claim that by the end of the year Matrox will also launch Parhelia graphics cards working at higher clock frequencies, which will make them competitive with NVIDIA and ATI products.

Moreover, they expect a new driver version 1.1 to be released in the nearest future. This driver will allow the owners of Matrox Parhelia-512 to get higher performance in 3D modes.
