Well, it seems that Intel started shipping new Pentium 4-M mobile processors not so long ago. Nevertheless, the company’s official statement indicates that the slowest models of this family are about to leave the stage. They claim that starting from July 18, the discontinuance program for Pentium 4-M 1.4GHz and 1.5GHz started. The last orders will be accepted only until October 19.

However, there is nothing to be surprise at. Intel was preparing the ground for the high-frequency CPUs (Pentium 4-M 2.2GHz is due in September). Besides, the models working at 1.4GHz and 1.5GHz couldn’t boast high performance against the background of the currently shipped Pentium III 1.2GHz.
