SOYO made an official press-release about the announcement of the new SY-P4X400 DRAGON Ultra mainboard based on the "semi-announced" VIA P4X400 chipset.

Like any DRAGON Ultra mainboard, this solution supports DDR SDRAM (PC3200/DDR400, PC2700 and PC2100), is equipped with an onboard ATA/133 IDE RAID controller from HighPoint, and additional 6-channel CMI8738 sound chip, AGP 8x (Pro) slot, optical audio Out, network 10/100 Ethernet controller and USB 2.0 support (due to VT8235 South Bridge). The new mainboard also supports 533MHz processor bus and ATA/133 protocol. It also boasts the whole set of overclocking friendly functions: FSB frequency adjustment, Vcore adjustment, Vdimm, Vagp and even multiplier adjustment (which is nearly useless).

The package includes a special SigmaBox device, installed into a standard 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch bay and equipped with 4 USB 2.0 ports and two diagnostic LEDs. Besides, the mainboard is bundled with a huge software package including: Norton AntiVirus 2002, Norton Ghost, Adobe Active Share and Acrobat Reader, Vcom AutoSave, WinDVD, eWalla text & voice messaging and Imagemore photographic collection.

The recommended retail price of the new SOYO SY-P4X400 DRAGON Ultra is $155.
