Samsung to Promote DDR400. [07/23/2002 01:01 PM]

Despite the fact that JEDEC is not hurrying to adopt the new DDR400 standard as an industrial one, this memory type is very likely to soon turn into a de-facto standard. There are two chipsets officially launched by now that support DDR400. They are VIA P4X400 and nForce2. Also there are VIA KT400 and SiS648DX coming. Besides, SiS645DX and SiS648 are also known to support this memory, though unofficially.

And now everything depends only on the memory makers. According to The Inquirer, Samsung stated their desire to support DDR400 actively and to increase the production of the corresponding chips and memory modules in the nearest future. And once Samsung tackles the matter (this is the world’s largest memory manufacturer), then there is not even the slightest doubt that the others will also get involved.
