Actually, we have to admit that 1.5 million is a really impressive result for MSI. Frankly speaking, I cannot think of a month when they managed to ship well over the notorious million (though it has been a very stable million all this time). And this year the company tried to avoid reporting this kind of info at all, having shared only the results of the month of March (900 thousand, as we told you here). The company explains its immensely grown sales by the increasing demand in the OEM market, which means that its production lines in China started working to the utmost of their power.
Other mainboard makers (including Elitegroup and ASUS) pointed out that the demand in June had grown worse and as a result they shipped fewer pieces than in May. However, all the companies mentioned above were not very willing to share this kind of info with us for the past few months, the last results we reported in our news section date back to early April (see this news story). Then however, the results of Elitegroup and ASUS were not that much better than the June ones (1.3 million and 1.4 million correspondingly). Well, let’s wait for the final Q2 2002 report, I expect we will be able to witness a really exciting sight.
