First International Computer (FIC) officially announced the first mainboard based on ATI RADEON IGP320. As we have expected, the product is called AT31 Fusion and is intended for Socket A platforms with AMD Athlon CPUs.

FIC AT31 Fusion is designed in MicroATX form-factor, features 1 AGP 4x slot, 3 PCI slots, 2 DIMM slots for PC2100 DDR SDRAM. The mainboard can hardly be called futuristic, because it goes with a slightly outdated 2 COM ports and 1 LPT port, as well as PS/2 connectors for mouse and keyboard. Unfortunately, there are only 2 USB connectors on the rear side of the board and one for the front panel.

Of course, the mainboard features integrated sound layout (Line-In, Line-Out, Mic-In, Game port). It is interesting that there is a special add-on cards shipped together with the mainboard that implements TV-Out functions, the board also had an integrated network controller from Realtek.

For the South Bridge there is the notorious VIA 686B, which famous for some problems with ATA66/100 and conflicts with some PCI devices. It is likely to be replaced with an ATI’s own South Bridge later on.

Well, very soon we will be able to see if the Fusion name given to the board is justified. At least the colour is really aggressively red :) (see the picture here)
