Using new standards such as AGP 8x and HyperTransport, together with the notorious x86-64 technology, AMD will assist in the development of the existing graphics technologies to make them applicable for 32bit and 64bit tasks. This initiative is expected to be favourable for all: starting from the advanced gamers and finishing with the 3D modeling professionals.
As is known, the upcoming AMD platform will be able to run both: 32bit and 64bit code, which will allow the developers and users to move smoothly from 32bit to 64bit applications. The cooperation with the graphics chips developers will help the latter to get ready for the Hammer launch, and to develop properly working drivers for Hammer and their own graphics accelerators, which is of great importance.
Well, we can only applaud here: they seem to have understood who is the one to push forward x86 progress in the world.
We wonder where is NVIDIA Corporation?
