The 4-years long Socket 370 era now comes to its end. Today Intel announced product discontinuance for Intel Celeron microprocessors based on the Tualtin-256 core made using 0.13 micron manufacturing technology.

The product discontinuance program started on the 11th of December and the last date Intel’s customers can place orders on both tray and retail versions of 1.40GHz Celeron processors is the 11th of April, 2003. The products identified in the notification will be shipped for the last time before December 12, 2003 and July 11, 2003, for tray and boxed versions respectively.

Intel already does not longer supply boxed versions of Pentium III 1.2 and 1.13GHz as well as Celeron 1A and 1.1A GHz. Intel also shaped the destiny of the Pentium III 1.40 and 1.33GHz and Intel Celeron at 1.30GHz on the 24th of October.
