VIA Technologies today announced two design wins for the VIA Envy24HT audio controller, with M-Audio and Terratec companies, who will integrate VIA's high-end audio solution into the next generation of consumer soundcards.

The VIA Envy24HT supports 24-bit 192kHz resolution in audio formats. The VIA Envy24HT also enables up to 8 outputs to support the latest DVD-Videos with Dolby Digital EX and DTS ES audio tracks.

Although M-Audio’s Revolution 7.1 is more professional rather than consumer’s solution, Terratec’s Aureon 7.1 Space seems to be an interesting PCI sound card for home use. Its drivers support Sensaura 3D with EAX, A3D, DirectSound, MacroFX and the "None-audio-mode," which allows the transmission of AC3 and DTS streams through the digital interface.

In fact, VIA Audio is already quite successful with their partners who produce professional audio solutions using VIA’s powerful sound chips, including Terratec, Audiotrak, M-Audio, Hoontech, Sta, Ego Systems and Event Electronics. Thus, it is the right time to start offering consumer products.
