Transcend however, didn’t want to wait in vain for something and launched the whole family of RIMM modules under their brand name. Among them we also found a 256MB PC1066 RDRAM RIMM featuring 32ns access time (PC800 modules features 40ns). The part number of this 8Mx16 module is TS256MRM8QB. All other new models from this family are pretty ordinary, so we won’t dwell on them here, as they represent standard PC800 RDRAM solutions ranging from 128MB up to 512MB with or without ECC support.
Of course, Transcend don’t produce these modules themselves, as their production process is very complicated and can hardly be separated from the chips production. On the heat spreader you can also notice the marking for Samsung, which is the today’s only largest RDRAM maker in the world.
