We came across very interesting news bit from Taiwan. According to Digitimes, VIA and SiS will announce their new Hammer chipsets in June already during Computex 2002 Taipei! I am talking about VIA K8HTA/VT8235 (this discrete chipset supports AGP 8x, USB 2.0 and ATA/133) and SiS755/SiS962 (this discrete chipset supports AGP 8x, USB 2.0, ATA/133 and IEEE1394). Moreover, it appears that some mainboard manufacturers have already completed the board design for Hammer based systems and are ready to start shipping their mainboards immediately after the CPU launching (which is scheduled fir Q4, as you remember).

This way, I can conclude that ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte will be showcasing not just the first samples of their solutions (see this news story), but the products ready for mass manufacturing. Now we long even more to see the first ClawHammer tests :)
