Another news bit from The Inquirer: the guys shared with us some information about the future plans of SiS Company in the chipset market (see our previous report on SiS’ Roadmap here). Here is some updated info for you:

Pentium 4.

  • SiS658. Dual-channel PC1066 RDRAM, 533MHz/400MHz Quad Pumped Bus, AGP 8x. Engineering samples will be available after the PC1066 RDRAM RIMM specs are finalized.
  • SiS648DX. (used to be known as SiS648). DDR400, 533MHz Quad Pumped Bus, AGP 8x. Engineering samples scheduled for July.SiS655. Dual-channel DDR266 (or DDR333), 533MHz Quad Pumped Bus, AGP 8x. First engineering samples are to be released in Q3 2002.
  • SiS660. This chipset is similar to SiS655. It features an integrated SiS330 graphics core. First camples are expected in late Q3 2002.
  • SiS649. This solution is to come after SiS648DX. It will support DDR II (400MHz). The first engineering samples will come out in Q2 2003.
Athlon.
  • SiS755. This is a solution for the upcoming 64bit AMD ClawHammer CPUs. The samples are due in July.
  • SiS760. This solution is none other but SiS755 with the integrated SiS330 graphics core. The first samples will come out in Q4 2002.
  • SiS746. This is a mobile solution. It will support DDR333 and AGP 8x. Engineering samples are already available.
South Bridges.
  • SiS963. 1GB/sec MuTIOL bus, 6 USB 2.0 ports, 3 FireWire ports, 2 ATA/133 channels, 6 PCI masters, MAC, audio, ACPI 1.0B, I/O Apic, PC2001 LPC. The samples should start spreading in Q2 2002.
  • SiS964. This one is to follow after SiS963. Should support SerialATA150, IPB ADSL. The engineering samples are due in Q4 2002.
  • SiS964B. This is a modification of the previous solution supporting 802.11b (wireless Ethernet). It should start sampling in Q4 2002.
