As we read over here, large Taiwanese manufacturer, Foxconn Electronics, continues searching for options to broaden its business. Now that they are still looking for someone in the field of TFT LCD monitors to purchase, they are also planning to enter the mainboard market. And for that they will not need to buy any other companies. First Tech Company with 70% of stock belonging to Foxconn will do the production for them.

The mainboards will be selling under Hoxtek brand name. The first solutions will be based on i845 chipsets and are due this month already. Of course! It would have been really strange if Foxconn had selected some platform other than Socvket478 for a start in the mainboard market. This company is the largest manufacturer of Socket 748 sockets :)

By the way, about a year ago some rumors circulated about Foxconn dealing with the mainboards manufacturing for Intel, though no official confirmation of this fact had ever emerged.

Dear Foxconn,
You produce motherboars with mini Baseboard Management Controller.
Do you use for this option NSC PC87431x family or other controllers?
Thank you in advance.
