ASUS today announced their new P4T533-C mainboard based on the "new" i850E chipset.

I say "new" because in fact there is nothing new about it. The official support of 533MHz QP bus and "semi-official" support of PC1066 RDRAM are the only innovations introduced in it compared with the i850 predecessor. The newcomer doesn’t even use the new ICH4 chip, which will go with the i845E chipset supporting PC2100 DDR SDRAM.

As for the mainboard specifications, it is a pretty standard solution, just like all other ASUS products. It is designed in ATX form-factor for Socket478 processors, features 4 RDRAM slots supporting up to 2GB PC800/PC1066 RDRAM, 5 PCI slots, an AGP 4x slot a CNR slot. It supports ATA/100 (ICH2), is equipped with 4 USB 2.0 ports (implemented via an onboard NEC chip), optional 6-channel Realtek ALC650 sound (S/PDIF Out), optional Intel 82562ET 10/100 Ethernet controller. The mainboard supports ASUS brand name technologies, including: ASUS JumperFree, iPanel, POST Reporter, EZ Plug and ASUS EZ Flash.

As I understand, the retail price of this product will rest around $180 at best and around $200 at worst :)
