Post to SlashdotI believe that the graphs aren’t necessary this time, as not so much time has passed since the last mention of the pricing situation. Just to refresh your memory I would like to mention the minimums according to DRAMeXchange: now you can buy 128Mbit DDR266 chips for $2.4, and 128Mbit PC133 chips – for $2.2.
As for 256Mbit chips, the situation here is a bit different though also very easy to explain. The lowest you can get DRR266 chips at is $6.3 per piece (that means that the cost of 1Mbit is higher here than in case of 128Mbit chips). and the price of Pc133 chips is even higher: $7.2, because the chips are quite new and moreover, the manufacturers are little by little moving from PC133 towards DDR SDRAM.
