SiS Launched Graphics Chip with 8x8 Support. [04/24/2002 11:25 PM]

SiS made an official press-release announcing a new Xabre400 graphics chip, which is said to support 8x8. Frankly speaking, I would have never guessed what this mysterious phrase means, if it hadn’t been for the explanation in the press-release: it turned out that "8x8" is none other but AGP 8x and DirectX 8.1 support :)

As for the chip itself, you can find its detailed coverage in our news here. We can only add now that SiS claims the mass shipments to get started in the second half of May. Hopefully, it will happen.
