I’ve been so overwhelmed by the endless stream of interesting news from AMD, that I simply forgot to say a few words about the company’s results in Q1 this year, which is over on March 31 already. Now I will make up for it :)

So, the company reported revenues of $902.07 million dollars in Q1. It is about 5% less that in Q4 2001, and 24% less than a year ago. As for the profitability (if I could use this word here), the situation has improved a little bit: though the company is still out of pocket, the losses in Q1 2002 reduced from 15.84 to 9.16 million dollars. Of course, these numbers cannot be compared with the results of Q1 2002 when the company revenues made1.19 billion dollars and the net profit was equal to 124.84 million.

And now some more details. the company set up a new record in this quarter: they sold 8 million processors (while the general AMD’s share in the CPU market went down to 19.5% because of Intel’s supplies increase, the world’s processor supplies this quarter made 41 million pieces). This brought the revenues of $684 million, which is a bit less than last quarter ($703 million), but a bit more than a year ago ($661 million). As for the flash memory, there is very little demand for it still. The sales in this market segment made only $160, which is much less than last quarter ($196 million) and can hardly be compared with the last year’s numbers at all ($411 million).
