After over 2 months have passed since the DDR333/PC2700 modules certification program started (see this news story), VIA reported the first successful achievements: Micron technology and Kingston technology started mass supplies of PC2700 DDR SDRAM memory modules, which have been certified by AVL for compatibility with VIA KT333 and VIA P4X333. One could think that these modules couldn’t do without the certification :)

By the way, let me remind you that P4X333 is still just a paper chipset, as its mass supplies haven’t been started yet and there are no mainboards on it in the market. And this is despite the fact that the chipset was launched on March 15 (see this news story). This slowness is quite surprising for VIA, I should admit. However, it will hardly tell on the spreading of PC2700 DDR memory, because there is SiS645/DX also supporting this memory type.
