AOpen has recently announced a new VIA KT333 based mainboard for Socket A CPUs called AK77-33. As you can guess easily from the name, this mainboard is none other but a modification of the already existing AK77 Pro (VIA KT266/KT266A) and differs from the latter only by the support of faster PC2700 DDR SDRAM, a new VT8233A South Bridge and optional USB 2.0 (VIA VT6202) support.

Other mainboard specs look as follows. It is designed in ATX form-factor, features 3 DIMM slots for up to 3GB PC1600/PC2100/PC2700 DDR SDRAM, 5 PCI, 1 AGP 4x and 1 CNR slot. Also it supports AC’97 5.1-channel sound implemented in Realtek’s chip, allows jumperless CPU settings, boasts optional Dr. LED support (LEDs indicating errors during POST) and Die-Hard BIOS (protection against boot viruses).
