As we have already told you, on Monday Intel will release its first CPUs from the new Pentium 4-M family, aimed at high-performance notebook. These CPUs will be built on 0.13micron Northwood core and will feature 512KB L2 cache and 400MHz Quad Pumped Bus. To reduce the heat dissipation in its mobile processors, Intel will implement several technologies such as Enhanced Speedstep, Deep Sleep and Deeper Sleep. Thanks to them the actual working frequency of the Pentium 4-M processor will vary depending on the computational load at a particular moment. Intel claims that these technologies will let reduce the heat dissipation in real conditions to 2W.

On March 4 we will see two Pentium 4-M processor models: 1.6GHz and 1.7GHz. Their official price will make $418 for the first one, and $508 for the second one correspondingly. Later on, in April, Intel will announce Pentium 4-M 1.8GHz and two slower models working at 1.4GHz and 1.5GHz. Then the core clock of the mobile Pentium 4-M family will reach 2GHz in the end of the year.

Together with the launching of Pentium 4-M Intel will announce two mobile chipsets for it: i845MP and i845MZ. These chipsets are mobile analogs to i845. They have no integrated graphics core and support PC133 SDRAM and PC1600/PC2100 DDR SDRAM. a more expensive i845MP will cost $41 while the other one - $36.
