In a bid to recapture the lead on the market of personal computers (PCs), Dell Inc., one of the world’s largest maker of computers, plans to start selling its products through biggest retail chains, something, which reflects changes happening to the manufacturer of computers, who currently sells PCs only directly to customers in the
Wal-Mart plans to sell two Dimension multimedia desktop computer models that are currently available directly from Dell in bundles for under $700, Reuters news-agency reports. Configuration of the systems is yet unclear, what is known is that they will be sold through Wal Mart and Sam’s Club stores.
“While we can’t get into specifics, in the coming quarters there will be additional activity in support of this move into global retail,” Dell spokesman Bob Pearson is reported to have said. “Today’s announcement with Wal-Mart represents our first step. Stay tuned”.
