T-Platforms, a provider of supercomputing systems based in Moscow, Russia, and Aeon Computing, a U.S.-based supplier of HPC clusters, servers, workstations and custom solutions, have announced the signing of a strategic reseller agreement between the two companies. Aeon Computing will supply T-Platforms systems, components and integrated solutions to the U.S. high performance computing market.

T-Platforms is known for many successful supercomputing projects. Among the most recent is the collaboration with the Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) over an ExaFLOPS supercomputer capable of performing at least a quintillion floating point operations per second (1018 FLOPS).

Given that there are no world-class developers of processors in Russia now, T-Platforms will sell its own systems powered by AMD, Intel or Nvidia. But the companies will do it in a smart  way, they say.

The companies are targeting the high-end scientific and technical computing market where customers require balanced and powerful computing solutions with large storage and fast networking requirements. Anticipated users will range from the largest government and academic research labs to industries such as aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, financial, energy research and bioinformatics.

"The technological development and success of T-Platforms, cultivated by almost 200 system installations, is a tremendous foundation for this new partnership. T-Platforms leads the market in terms of density and they have extensive, ongoing R&D efforts in many other areas of HPC system development. We look forward to working closely with T-Platforms to deliver highly integrated, well balanced HPC solutions to our customers," said Jeff Johnsonof Aeon computing.
