As we read over at Digitimes, ALi really gave up shipping the current version of their Aladdin-P4 desktop chipset, as we have actually supposed. Instead, they are planning to launch its mobile version for Pentium 4-M processors. Additionally they reported that ALI is considering the possibility of developing a mobile chipset with the integrated graphics core, however, no one knows when it may appear in the market.
As for the desktop ALi chipsets for Pentium 4 processors, the company’s plans here are very "vague". Yes, they do think about launching a modified desktop Aladdin-P4 supporting AGP 8x and USB 2.0, however, it is still a big question if it will ever be released or not. In general, it looks as if ALi were going to leave the desktop chipsets market one day.
