The closer we come to the new NVIDIA NV17 and NV25 launching day, the more rumors about these newcomers turn up here and there. Here is what we read over at this Ukrainian site.
In order to avoid delays with the launching of new graphics cards based on NV17 and NV25, NVIDIA is already shipping these chips to some leading graphics cards manufacturers. The graphics solutions on NV25 are expected to appear a couple of days after the official NVIDIA’s announcement. GeForce3 chips production has been already stopped.
This way, the information about GeForce4 family intended to oust the previous GeForce3 graphics solutions from the market seems to be true. However, no doubt that the graphics cards makers still have a lot of GeForce3 chips in stock that is why these products will not vanish from the market in a wink of an eye.

We have just received an e-mail from Andrew Humber, NVIDIA European PR Manager, who told us that the information about the discontinuance of GeForce3 chips production taken from the Ukranian web-site was incorrect. Here is a quote:
This information is incorrect - GeForce3 production is still very much active!!At the same time, Mr. Humber didn’t deny that the GeForce4 based graphics cards will start shipping right after the chips announcement on February 5, 2002.
