Well, finally it happened. We are talking about an event, which we started looking forward to over a month ago (see this news story): Intel Celeron CPUs on 0.13micron Tualatin/256 core working at 1GHz and 1.1GHz started retailing. As usual the first country to start selling them appeared Japan, however, we expect them to appear in other regions soon, too.
In Japan these processors cost not that much at all: Celeron 1A costs $82.4 and Celeron 1.1A - $97.7. So now we have every right to state that new 0.13micron Celerons will be selling for the price of old ones, made with 0.18micron manufacturing technology, i.e. $74 for 1A and $89 for 1.1A in 1,000-unit quantities. The era of 0.13micron Celeron CPUs is coming!
