Well, our expectations came true. As we have predicted in the beginning of January (on January 3, to be more exact) Intel made an official press-release where they announced the launching of the newest Celeron processor based on 0.13micron Tualatin/256 core and working at 1.3GHz.
This CPU has already been selling in retail stores since December 27 for some $132. As we have told you, the price dropped down to $118 for 1,000-unit quantities. Additionally, we would like to stress that on January 1, 2002 Intel began mass production of its Celeron 1A and 1.10A CPUs based on the same 0.13micron Tualatin core. These processors cost not much at all (see this and this news story). Now we look forward to their coming into retail ;-)
