Our friends from Reactor Critical shared some very interesting news with us. According to their sources, Gigabyte is going to launch ATi based graphics solutions in retail packages under its own brand name next week, even though the company used to say that they will be making them only for the OEM market.
The graphics cards family will be called MAYA and will include cards built on RADEON 8500, RADEON 7500 (LE?), RADEON 7000 and even Rage128 Pro. As usual, the cards specs contain a lot of uncertainties and vague things (the yet unknown RADEON 7500 LE chip, unclearness with the memory types, bus width, frequencies, etc.). Therefore, we decided not to devote too much time to them. We’d better wait for the official announcement from Gigabyte, rather than break our head with guesses.
