Mobile Pentium 4 Delayed

According to ZDNet, the mobile Pentium 4 CPUs working at 1.6GHz and 1.7GHz and built on the new 0.13micron Northwood core will be delayed. They will come out not in February 2002 as it has been initially planned, but in the end of March or even beginning of April. AT the same time, Intel will launch its new i845MP chipset supporting both: SDRAM and DDR SDRAM.
Of course, no one would promise these processors an easy lifetime. Their power consumption will be quite high (around 30W), which restricts their application only with powerful notebooks built on Mobile Pentium 4 CPUs, which should be a worthy replacement of the desktop computers. Supposedly, the notebooks based on Mobile Pentium 4 will require an extra fan to dissipate all the heat produced by the CPU. Just to give you a better idea: Pentium III-M 1.2GHz emits 22W, Athlon 4 1.2GHz emits 25W.
