"Big Four": The Race Continues

Well, it’s high time we summed up the achievements of the Big Four for the last two months (October and November), according to Digitimes.

<%BANNER[article]%>As usual, now come our comments and notes:
- (*) To our great disappointment, we didn’t get any new info on the supply volumes of ASUS mainboards during the last three quarters of this year. The number 7.56 seems to be completely erroneous that is why all the further calculations do not make much sense.
- As you can notice, only Elitegroup may be able to fulfill its initial plan. Even bearing in mind that the info about ASUS supplies in the period from January to September has been underestimated, the real state of things is still too far away from the sacred 18 million pieces.
- The practical equality of the October and November results shown by Elitegroup, MSI and Gigabyte can be explained by the fact that their production capacities have been loaded to hundred percent during these months.
- In the beginning of next year Elitegroup production capacities should undoubtedly grow up, because the company will put into operation 12 new surface mounting lines.
- As for ASUS’ good results in November, they can be hardly explained by the overloaded production capacities. It’s very hard to say what’s the matter is, but we will try to make a few suppositions. Maybe their products are too expensive? Again Elitegroup managed to win the supplies volume race. Isn’t it the right time to think everything over once again and to come a bit closer to the customer? Otherwise, even MSI will be able to catch up with ASUS quite soon :-)
