Intel E7500 Mainboard from TYAN

TYAN announced their new E7500 powered mainboard for Intel Xeon based servers. The Thunder i7500 Pro features advanced expansion busses and network capabilities that allow us to consider this mainboard as a solution for powerful servers. The novelty utilises two 82870P2 PCI/PCI-X hubs, offering four independent PCI-X channels with two Gigabit Ethernet ports connected via PCI-X bus. Here are the brief specifications of the Thunder i7500 Pro:
- 2 mPGA603 sockets for Intel Xeon DP processors with 512KB of L2 cache;
- Intel E7500 with 400MHz Quad Pumped Bus support;
- 6 184-pin DIMM slots for up to 12GB of PC1600 or PC2100 memory in Registered DIMM modules;
- 2 133MHz 64-bit PCI-X, 1 100MHz 64-bit PCI-X and 1 33MHz 32-bit PCI;
- 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000) and one Fast Ethernet port (10/100);
- Optional: integrated 2-channel Ultra320 SCSI controller from Adaptec;
- EPS12V power-connector; SSI EEB v3.0 form-factor (12"x13").
