Apparently, Gigabyte Technology’s financial performance is sometimes not so good as the performance of their mainboards and graphics cards when overclocked. The company succeeded in achieving only about 43.8% of their planned revenue for this year and the situation is not going to improve much in the nearest future.

Gigabyte reported $395.6 million sales for the first half of this year with their net income reaching $35.35 million or $0.07 per share (EPS is estimated). Unfortunately for the company, their gross margin dropped almost twice from 20.37% in the first quarter to 11.63% in the second. Average gross margin was 16.32% during the first six month of 2002 with the trend to fall further.<%BANNER[article]%>

For the accountable period, Gigabyte shipped 4.785 million mainboards and around 700 thousands graphics cards. The company did not manage to reach half of their targets for this year in terms of shipments: they supplied only 44% mainboards of the company’s full-year targets and only 28% of graphics products, far below expectations. Although from July to November the demand on computer-components usually rises, there is high possibility that Gigabyte will not meet its targets this year.
