A French site Nvchips-fr has published a quotation from AOpen’s roadmap, dealing with on-coming graphics cards, which the company is about to manufacture. Here are the details:
- In April AOpen is to introduce a graphics card based on NVIDIA GeForce3. This card will be similar to other products of the kind, though it will support OpenBIOS technology that is meant for adjusting core and memory voltage via BIOS.
- The former PA 256 Deluxe built on GeForce2 GTS won’t be manufactured any more, since the necessary NVIDIA chips are rejected. It will be replaced by PA256 Deluxe II based on GeForce2 Pro.
- Old cards based on GeForce2 MX will be equipped with a faster GeForce2 MX 400 clocked at 200MHz. The memory (32MB SDRAM) will be working at 166MHz. This line is supposed to comprise the following items: PA256 MX AIW (combined with a TV-tuner, Video- and TV-Out), PA256 MX Platinium (equipped with an additional DVI- and TV-Out), PA256 Ì II (supports OpenBIOS technology), PA256 MX (nothing special). Furthermore, a bunch of new models will be launched: PA256 MX400-VT (with a TV-Out and TwinView support) and PA256 MX400-E (boasting 64MB SDRAM clocked at 143MHz).
- Alongside with that, AOpen launches another card based on GeForce2 MX 200, PA256 MX200. This graphics card will feature core/memory frequencies of 175MHz /166MHz and will be provided with 32MB 6ns SDRAM with a cut down 64-bit bus.
As you can see, AOpen still bases all its products on chipsets by NVIDIA.
