According to our sources, Tyan will be showing its first dual-processor Socket A mainboard, Thunder K7 (S2462) at CeBIT. As we have already told you in our news, this AMD 760MP based mainboard will support PC266 DDR SDRAM and feature 64-bit/33MHz PCI slots, integrated Ultra160 SCSI and LAN, and integrated ATI graphics. However, it doesn’t mean that this mainboard will be available for purchase right after CeBIT is over. Unfortunately, AMD has postponed the mass production of its AMD-760MP chipset until the early May. That is why even though the first mainboard samples are already available, Tyan Thunder K7 (S2462) can be expected in summer only, not earlier.
In summer Tyan is also planning to start sampling the second dual-Athlon mainboard based on AMD-770 (AMD-760MPX) chipset supporting 64bit/66MHz PCI slots.
