We received a word from our reliable sources close to ASUS about two new mainboards, which ASUS will be showcasing at CeBIT this year. They are:
- ASUS CUV266-E. This mainboard is based on VIA Apollo Pro266 chipset. It is none other but an updated version of the recently announced CUV266. Besides DDR SDRAM support, this board (unlike its predecessor) will also support PC133 SDRAM. See the detailed specs and photo here.
- ASUS A7V-E. This mainboard will be a continuation of the ordinary A7V mainboard. Having provided this KT133 based mainboard with a new VIA686B South Bridge and hence with ATA/100 support, ASUS didn’t need equipping this board with an additional promise ATA/100 controller from Promise any more. So, ASUS redesigned the PCB to make this board cheaper. See the detailed specs and photo here.
Well, there will be definitely much more interesting things at CeBIT, including ASUS V8200 graphics card based on NVIDIA NV20 and some other products.
