One of the first mainboards based on very promising core logic, VIA KT266, was announced by Gigabyte. GA-7VTX is a new ATX Socket A mainboard supporting AMD Athlon and Duron CPUs with 200 and 266MHz FSB and new DDR SDRAM.
The new board will feature 3 184-pin slots for PC2100/PC1600 DDR SDRAM, 1 AGP Pro slot, 1 AMR slot and 5 PCI slots. As for the additional features, GA-7VTX will support 6 USB ports, have an integrated Creative CT5880 sound chip and Gigabyte’s brand DualBIOS technology. We should also point out that GA-7VTX will possess the complete set of overclocking friendly options. It will allow adjusting the CPU clock multiplier, FSB frequency, Vcore, Vio and Vagp.
Well, thanks to this cool combination of features GA-7VTX has every chance to become one of the best DDR-mainboards for AMD CPUs especially since VIA KT266 chipset provides the best performance of the memory subsystem.
