Although the graphics cards based on NVIDIA GeForce2 MX and equipped with 64MB graphics memory are simply absurd, they nevertheless keep turning up. Today we learned from Riva Station that within the next 3-6 weeks, Hercules will also start selling a graphics solution like that. As for some other peculiarities of this card we should point out that they will be provided with 5.5ns SDR SDRAM chips that’s why the memory will be clocked at 183MHz. The core frequency will remain standard: 175MHz. There will be several different modifications of Hercules 64MB GeForce2 MX cards: with TV-Out and with TwinView support.
To tell the truth, we see only one worthy application for these graphics products: professional 3D software, which aren’t so sensitive to the memory bus bandwidth as most today’s gaming applications.
