This is exactly what most Taiwanese memory modules manufacturers say. This week the wholesale prices for the memory modules were set as follows:
| PC133 SDRAM | 64MB | $20-24 |
| 128MB | $40-45 |
| 256MB | $81-90 |
| PC800 RDRAM | 64MB | $100 |
| 128MB | $180-190 |
| 256MB | $360-370 |
| PC2100 DDR SDRAM | 128MB | $120-140 |
| 256MB | $250-280 |
As you can see, DDR SDRAM costs much less than RDRAM already. However, this is just the beginning. Memory manufacturers expect the prices to keep dropping due to the growing demand and announcements of new mainboards on VIA Apollo Pro266 and AMD-760 chipsets.
