According to our sources close to VIA, mass sales of Cyrix III CPU based on a new Samuel2 core (which differs from Samuel 1 by the 64KB L2 cache) should start in the end of the month. Now some shops in the country of the Rising Sun are already offering a few processors samples supporting 650 and 667MHz clock frequencies. We don’t know how much they will cost as soon as the sales start, however, bearing in mind their performance we dare suppose that they will be of interest to customers only if the price doesn’t exceed $50 ($40 will be even better).
